Topic Summary
In this timeline the Berlin Wall never fell. The upheaval of 1989 did not run its course, and the opposing blocs entered the new millennium armed, suspicious and locked in a rivalry that neither can afford to lose. Berlin, still divided by concrete and by ideology, is where the two systems meet most closely and where a single misjudgement can travel furthest.
Each delegate holds an individual portfolio and acts on that character's own powers, loyalties and secrets. As the crisis team releases updates in real time, delegates respond with directives and private crisis notes. The outcome is not scripted: alliances form and break, information is incomplete, and every decision returns as a consequence.
About the Committee

Chair's Letter
Esteemed Delegates,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Crisis Committee of SRH Berlin Model United Nations 2027. I am honored to serve as your Chair alongside my Vice Chair, Duru, and I look forward to an engaging and memorable conference with all of you.
My name is Rehan, and I was born in Pakistan. I have been taking part in Model United Nations for nine years and have attended more than twenty conferences, as a delegate and as a chair. In that time MUN has taught me how to think under pressure, how to listen before I speak, and how much a room of people can achieve when they negotiate in good faith. I am excited to share that experience with you in Berlin.
Our committee will explore the alternate historical scenario “The Berlin Wall Never Fell: Cold War 2000.” In this reality the Cold War has continued into the new millennium, leaving the world divided by political tensions, ideological conflicts and competing global interests. It is fitting that we will face this crisis in Berlin, a city that knows better than most what division costs and what it takes to overcome it. As delegates, you will take on individual portfolios, respond to unexpected developments and live with the consequences of your decisions.
Crisis Committee rewards adaptability, creativity and quick thinking. Be bold with your directives, be precise with your crisis notes, and do not wait to be told what to do. The strongest delegates will be those who read the room, build alliances and act while the situation is still changing.
Whether this is your first conference or your twentieth, I want you to feel comfortable getting involved. Ask questions, take risks, and enjoy the experience. I look forward to meeting you all and seeing what history looks like once you have rewritten it.
Sincerely,
Rehan

Vice Chair's Letter
Esteemed Delegates,
It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the Crisis Committee of SRH Berlin Model United Nations 2027. I am truly honored to serve as your Vice Chair alongside Rehan, and I look forward to an engaging and memorable conference with all of you.
My name is Duru, and I am currently pursuing my studies in Berlin. Model United Nations is an opportunity to explore international relations, develop critical thinking and understand the complexities of diplomacy and global decision making. I am excited to contribute to an environment where delegates can challenge themselves, exchange perspectives and grow through meaningful debate.
Our committee will explore the alternate historical scenario “The Berlin Wall Never Fell: Cold War 2000.” In this reality the Cold War has continued into the new millennium, leaving the world divided by political tensions, ideological conflicts and competing global interests. As delegates, you will navigate an evolving crisis, make strategic decisions, respond to unexpected developments and consider the consequences of your actions on the global stage.
Crisis Committee requires adaptability, creativity, quick thinking and the ability to work under pressure. I encourage you to think beyond conventional diplomatic solutions, take initiative, collaborate with your fellow delegates and bring your portfolio’s perspective into every decision.
I look forward to witnessing your ideas, strategies and contributions throughout the conference. Remember that in this committee, history is not simply something we study. It is something we have the opportunity to rewrite.
Sincerely,
Duru
